Busy, busy, busy

The lack of activity on this blog does not in any way reflect the level of  activity in our household.  The start of school means the lazy days of summer are behind us.

Our weekly activities outside of school include:   Soccer games, long with practices once a week, Sarah is in tumbling class, Abby has started her third year of ballet, Sarah and I go to the Library’s story time, and I’m going to a Ladies Bible study.

In between all that is the regular stuff that needs to be done. Add to that, the slew of paperwork to begin another adoption.

So that’s why it’s been a little quiet here.

Your running plan sounds great, and I bet you will do that 10K in one hour!

I run 4-5 days a week. Usually my schedule looks like this:
Monday--6 miles ( the first 1.5 with my 6yo)
Tuesday--2-4 miles (I run 2 miles with my 6yo daughter, then finish the rest alone)
Wednesday--8 miles
Thursday or Friday--long run of 10-12 miles
Thursday also 2 miles with my 6yo, separate from my long run.
Saturday--Sometimes a 5K or 1 or 2 mile fun run with my 6yo .
This week I will have 34 or 35 miles, depending on how much I warm up before my 5K on Saturday.

When I first began running 3.5 years ago, I ran 4 days a week, 10 miles a week. Then I increased it slowly over the last 3.5 years---15 miles a week for a while, then 20 for a year or so. Last year I went to 25 a week, and this summer I increased it to 30 a week. Some weeks are 28, and some go up to 35, but I try to keep my average at 30.

Happy Running!
