Randomness Part Two

What do you do in the middle of summer when there's "nothing" to do? Wash dishes!

I set up Abby's play table in the bathroom and gave her a bowl of soapy water and she washed all her dishes and rinsed them in the sink.

Cousin "Doodle Bug" was on hand to help with the drying!

In July, I convinced my friend, Super-K to run a 5K with me. It was a hot day! But we both survived. That little boy and his mom (behind me in the red) beat me! He's EIGHT!
Here I am coming in to the finish line. Not my best time ever. Oh well. At least I finished. Super-K beat me by a few minutes, too.
One of my fans.
We actually got medals. I came in third in my age group. I think there were only three of us. ;) If you want a medal, it helps to sign up for races that don't have very many runners.
Abby always enjoys the fruit snacks at the end of the race.

Here's what Abby has learned from her mama. Who knew it would translate into her "dancing"? It cracks me up that for the first two "laps" no one is even chasing her. (This is supposed to be a scene from the Nutcracker where the soldiers and the mice are fighting each other.)

Abby loves to play dress-up with her friends. Occasionally, I let her put on make-up.

I must say, she does a pretty good job for a four-year-old. Even if it is a little heavy on the cheeks. She's ready for the stage!

We ended the summer with a picnic at our house for the family. We borrowed my sister's chiminea. Her ladyship is fond of a good blaze.

So, that's it. No more summer. Boo hoo! But we are looking forward to all the fun that Fall will have for us!
